Job Title: 2nd shift CNC punch/laser operator

Reports to: 2nd Shift Supervisor

Shift: 2nd Shift

General Summary:  Responsible for the fabrication of sheet metal products to customer specifications assuring that Pro Metal Work’s products and services meet or exceed customer expectations.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Operate equipment in a safe manner every day

  • Foster a positive environment, always treating co-workers with dignity and respect

  • Review and understand job paperwork before running production

  • Set-up and Operate CNC Punch and CNC Punch/Lasers - Load material and programs to the machine to manufacture customer products

  • Review and verify the quality of a laser cut and punch edge; adjusting as needed to maintain an excellent level of quality to avoid unplanned secondary operations

  • If equipped, load materials into and execute automated material handling towers

  • Shake out, tab, and deburr parts while the machine is running

  • Read Blueprints; read and use a digital caliper, laser scanner, and other inspection equipment/gages

  • Validate parts meet customer specifications, 1st piece, and in-process verification

  • Keep job paperwork and parts organized and properly stacked for subsequent operations

  • Provide constructive feedback to engineering on how to improve efficiencies

  • Safely meet quality and productivity expectations for products run

  • Demonstrate reliability through outstanding punctuality and attendance

  • Other duties as assigned

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to read blueprints; ability to use job-related inspection equipment/gages

  • Good organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lift 40lbs; ability to stand continuously for scheduled work shift

  • Work independently or in a team in a self-directed work environment

  • Previous CNC Laser or Punch experience preferred but will train a candidate who possesses good mechanical aptitude, is reliable, has a desire to learn how to set up and productively run CNC equipment, committed to outstanding quality and safety performance.

Shift Information

  • Monday thru Thursday 3:55 pm to 2:25 am
